Lewis Black with a gun is a scary thought

August 9th, 2007 by Eric

Two years ago I spent an evening with the parents and siblings north of the border in the great city of Toronto watching political and religious satirist, Lewis Black. The cantankerous comedian had me laughing so hard that I missed half of what he said. The morning after my gut hurt so bad from laughing I felt as if I had done about seventeen thousand sit-ups. He was, in a word, brilliant.

The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence has started VidiVoice, a new website where the average Joe Shmoe and Suzie Creamcheese can upload a video speaking out against gun violence, and Lewis Black has joined their efforts. He does both an intro and a short video himself. Neither is his funniest stuff, but in a way I’m glad. Making jokes about gun violence seems a little like sprinkling pixie dust on a pile of dog crap. But they’ll still make you chuckle a few times. Check’em out.

If you want to send a video yourself, you can learn how here. Then check out what the Brady campaign recommends that you do to help stop the violence. Then scoot on over to our “Wednesday” on gun violence. It might even save a life.

Since the previous videos weren’t Lewis Black’s funniest, I’ll leave you with one that is. Enjoy.
