Your barbaric yawp.
March 6th, 2007 by Matt
Tomorrow is National Be Heard Day. I’m serious. I’ve done some Internet scouring, and I’ve still got no idea who decided that tomorrow would be National Be Heard Day. I’ve decided that that’s not important.
Please feel free to use this post to leave a comment, and let yourself be heard. Or send us a note through our Contact page. We want to know what you’re thinking. We want to know what you’d like to see us cover in the future. We’d like to know what you’re rocking to, watching on the tube or silver screen, chatting about, discovering, reading.
In “Song of Myself” from Leaves of Grass, Walt Whitman writes:
The spotted hawk swoops by and accuses me — he complains of my gab and my loitering.
.
I too am not a bit tamed — I too am untranslatable;
I sound my barbaric yawp over the roofs of the world.
Blogs and the Internet provide us a rare opportunity to be heard by friends and strangers alike, from across the country and around the world. We’ve been lucky enough so far at Progressive Wednesday to have folks from seven different countries and nearly every state pop by our site.
Consider this post a reminder that this is your site too, and that we’re always curious about what you have to say. This site is always going to be a forum where you can be heard. So yawp away, baby, yawp away.
